What Youll Do
The Care Center Educator is a Registered Nurse with experience in the field of resident care management. Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care in a long-term care setting. Acts as a role model and team leader within the Care Center team and as a general resource for all personnel. Observes and reviews overall nursing care and reviews documentation and incident reports to determine educational needs for process improvement. Takes action based upon clinical judgment and knowledge of current evidence-based practice standards. Provides just in time training to staff in one-on-one and group settings. Develops and assists in implementing a consistent onboarding process for nursing and C.N.A. staff at the Care Center.
- Collaborates with Education team and Nursing leadership at the Care Center to carry out practice standards competencies staff education to enhance the quality of resident care.
- Designs and conducts educational programs for staff.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of new and ongoing programs.
- Creates assigns and tracks annual competencies.
- Ensures that licenses and certifications are kept up-to-date by the staff according to policy.
- Responsible for the C.N.A. instructional program including planning organizing implementing and instructing. Ensures program structure meets standards of performance and objectives for students as outlined by DORA.
- Works in coordination with Care Center leadership patient care staff residents and the Education team to meet the standards of GRH educational programs.
- Oversees orientation and supervision of students.
- Promotes a positive clinical environment.
- Organizes planned learning experiences for both classroom and clinical settings.
- Communicates with the Education team and Care Center leadership regarding progress of students.
- Meets with students and staff to ensure compliance with organizations policies and standard practices.
- Communicates any changes to program or student roster with staff.
- Maintains accurate training and orientation records in collaboration with Human Resources and the Education department.
- Assists with the development of policies pertaining to admission dismissal and completion of the program.
- The Care Center Educator must possess knowledge in both traditional and modern methods of training and development.
- Provides support to the Education department and assists with tasks and completion of special projects as assigned.
- Actively participates in ongoing improvement of educational projects across the organization.
- Helps organize and teach at annual skills fairs and other educational events. Assists with onboarding programs for new staff members and other programs to keep existing staff up-to-date on skills and competencies.
- Expected to represent GRH to the community which may include community presentations and attendance at community events.
Who Were Looking For
- Two years of clinical teaching experience preferred and a minimum of one year experience in a long-term care center setting required.
- Experience in direct patient care and leadership preferred.
- Requires a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado. BSN or equivalent preferred but not required.
- A current American Heart Association approvedBLS certification required upon hire.
- An American Heart Association approved ACLS and PALS certification required within 3 months of hire and maintain current status throughout employment.
- BLS ACLS and PALS Instructor Certification required within six months of hire.
- ACLS and PALS Course Director Certification required within one year of hire.

Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates qualifications skills competencies and experience.
