Environmental Control and Thermal Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level)

The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Environmental Control and Thermal Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to support development design testing and delivery of the Core Stage on the Space Launch System (SLS) programin Huntsville AL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create or modify thermal math models to support system analysis

  • Run analytical cases to determine environments or temperatures of various components or structures of the SLS upper stage vehicle

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Propulsion and Stress to ensure requirements are met and issues are resolved

  • Develop skills and grow into an independent contributor role with increasing technical complexity

  • Take on broader ownership of work including design build supply chain production support and customer support

  • Work on exciting challenges within a collaborative and supportive team environment

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer

  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. CATIA SolidWorks CREO) and engineering analysis tools (e.g. Thermal Analysis software such Thermal Desktop)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including mechanics of materials thermodynamics and fluid dynamics

  • Experience with aerospace or defense industry standards and practices

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or course work in thermal design and analysis

  • Experience or course work with thermal design and modeling of aerospace platforms

  • Experience or course work with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop Sinda/Fluint SpaceClaim or similar tools

  • Experience or course work working with space programs NASA programs preferred

Summary pay range for Associate: $76500.00 - $103500.00

Summary pay range of Mid-Level: $95200.00 - $128800.00
