Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) is seeking to hire Anesthetists - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) - to become a vital part of Emory Healthcares integrated academic healthcare system.
Work Hours/Schedule:
- Full Time 10 or 12-hour shifts along with extra shift opportunities if desired.
- No calls No weekends.
Experience:
- One year of General Anesthesia experience highly preferred.
Highlights of joining the ESA Anesthetist Team:

Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) handles Ortho/Spine General Surgery Plastics OB & GYN GI and Outpatient Specialty cases at Emory Ortho & Spine Hospital (EUOSH) and multiple Outpatient Surgical Centers located in the greater Atlanta Metro area. ESA Anesthetists are an integral part of the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system committed to caring excellence integrity and value.
Description
- Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients.
- Performs initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician.
- Interprets and records patients physiological and pharmacological status.
- Assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
- Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.
- Establishes multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations including ECG direct arterial pressure central venous pressure arterial blood gas determinations hematocrits and routine measurement of temperature respiration blood pressure and heart rate.
- Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use.
- Manages pre- and post-anesthetic care including ventilatory support of patients as assigned by an Anesthesiologist.
- Manages ventilators and other respiratory care parameters as directed by the physician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Masters Degree program.
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia. Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
- BLS ACLS PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
