Job Summary

Job Description:

This position is part of our Safety Business Unit which aims to enable safer greener and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.

Task description

Work in close collaboration with the team of designers to interpret design intentions while also proposing your own vision in accordance with the products style philosophy
Subject definition based on customer expectations and proposal of innovative solutions
Data collection (e.g. capturing market trends influences and social evolutions)
Production of several scenarios/concepts to provide a complete view of all possible solutions and their associated values
Validation of the retained solution with the support of marketing and/or sales
Your work must reflect innovation aesthetics quality and a constant concern for user/client expectations. It must demonstrate real agility in 3D modeling
Assumption of functional and/or project-related tasks in projects
3D modeling of sketches based on style intention and 2D renderings
Technical convergence of 3D shapes: integration understanding and processing of technical constraints based on input from the design office
Delivery of high-quality surfaces (Class A) detailed integration of shapes gaps and flushness and manufacturing constraints ready for serialization all while meeting deadlines and quality standards
Digital mock-up: management of the 3D master shape in the DMU environment DMU consultation and extraction of technical data necessary for 3D shape convergence (CATIA)
Real-time rendering VR and preparation of digital renderings
Support for the development of 3D digital modeling methods and tools
Preparation of documentation and presentation of work results

Required qualifications

The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant completed degree specialized in design or equivalent with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aeronautics and related subject-specific additional qualifications or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification. The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways

Skills and competences

Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
Knowledge and experience as a CAS modeler in the industry aeronautics or automotive sector would be a plus for those completing a 3D modeling design training program
Knowledge of some or all of the following tools:
- Hand sketching
- 2D Digital rendering (e.g. Wacom Cintiq graphics tablet and Photoshop software)
- 3D Surfaces Modeling (e.g Autodesk Alias Alias Subd or Catia V5)
- 3D Rendering & VR (e.g Keyshot)
Experience with multiple design software programs and the ability to apply the most suitable one to a given design phase
Knowledge of industrial products tolerances (gaps flushness) and perceived quality
Ability to develop ideas design products and a keen sense of aesthetics
Ideally a first experience in new product development within an international environment
Creativity open-mindedness and agility
Ability to adapt to different situations and scenarios and have a good analytical mind
Team spirit autonomy and good communication skills
Proactivity autonomy and innovative mindset
Very good written and spoken German and English skills French is a plus
Willingness for business trips at home and abroad

A security clearance is required for this activity or must be issued by the responsible authorities.

Location

At our Donauwörth site located on the banks of the river Danube we support Airbus Helicopters in developing helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
