The Opportunity:
As a result of strong business growth industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in Witney we have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Operations Engineering Group focusing on the innovation of equipment to meet the needs of an evolving product portfolio working with RD on new processes products and engineering solutions to maintain equipment effectiveness. This role will see you develop and lead on strategies in relation to bespoke engineering solutions to support the on-going and evolving manufacturing requirements.
The Production Engineer is responsible for the delivery of significant new processes product equipment and technologies to the this role you will:
About You:
To be successful you will ideally be degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering however a proven track record and experience in Production Engineering environment is acceptable. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a track record of leading projects and/or a team of skilled engineers having a future focused long-term vision and most importantly a history and enthusiasm of idea generation and application of new or existing technologies.

About our Diabetes Care Division:
World Leader in Glucose Monitoring the Abbotts Diabetes Care business designs develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The Witney site has been instrumental in the research development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2 FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. The FreeStyle Libre systems are now used by over 5 million people around the world. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of peoples lives.
