GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy is looking to add one Environment Health & Safety (EHS) student for a 12-month co-op program starting in May 2026 to support the EHS team from Canada.

Job Description

As an Intern you will:

  • Receive technical training mentorship and coaching from world-class highly experienced EHS professionals.
  • Grow your technical expertise in your field and expand your skills in new areas.
  • Create or update procedures documents presentations reports data bases solve problems implement innovative initiatives and collaborate with the team and other organizations.

Required Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in a EHS related field.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.).
  • Must be willing to work in Markham ON and travel independently to other locations around GTA.
  • Must be available for a 12-month co-op program starting Summer 2026.
  • Must hold a valid class G driver license and have access to a reliable vehicle for transportation.
  • Must be willing to work on site up to 5 days a week.

  • Demonstrated initiative independence and leadership skills.
  • Strong written verbal and presentation skills.
  • Team player strong interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of ISO 45001/ISO 14001 standards.
  • Eager to learn new technology and skillsets.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint Smartsheet or similar computer tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous Co-op/internship experience is an asset.
