Job Summary
This role oversees a companys revenue recognition reporting and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP accounting standards.âKey responsibilities include managing the monthly close reconciling accounts approving journal entries collaborating with other departments (Sales Legal Operations) and leading the revenue accounting position will manage the team responsible forâthe processing and accurate application of customer payments to corresponding invoices and accounts within the companys financial system.âKey responsibilities include reconciling payment discrepancies maintaining precise financial records and ensuring efficient cash flow by working with various departments.âThis role requires strong attention to detail analytical skills knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.â
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of 3-4 individuals
- Handle incoming cash payments from various sources including checks electronic transfers (like ACH) and credit cards.â
- Match payments to the correct invoices and apply them to the appropriate customer accounts.â
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues between payments received and invoices.â
- Keep detailed records of cash transactions and prepare regular financial reports.â
- Work closely with accounting finance and customer service teams to facilitate smooth financial operations and billing.â
- Assist with reconciliation of cash and credit card receivables
- Use accounting software systems to manage and track cash activity.â
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Attention to Detail:âEssential for accurately processing transactions and identifying errors.â
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:âNeeded to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.â
- Organizational Skills:âTo manage high transaction volumes and maintain accurate records.â
- Communication Skills:âTo effectively coordinate with internal departments.â
- Technical Proficiency:âExperience with financial software (like ERP systems) and strong Microsoft Excel skills are often required.â
- Education/Experience:âAn associates or bachelors degree in finance or a related field is often preferred along with experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.â
