Position Purpose:
The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic will perform maintenance diagnosis and repairs on cars trucks construction equipment snow removal equipment small engine repairs and off-road equipment in a safe efficient quality-minded and customer-focused manner. This position will also perform maintenance and repair on aerial lift equipment according to the manufacturers guidelines to maintain the safety and reliability of the equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns malfunctions and emergency roadside repairs in a safe efficient and quality manner.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including engines transmissions and clutches suspension and steering fuel and ignition (gas & diesel) electrical systems brakes snowplow equipment and sanders.
- Perform final operational tests on vehicles for quality check.
- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety productivity and life of the unit.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as fluid changes lubrications safety inspections and brake repairs.
- Examine vehicles to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.
- Clean vehicles and equipment inside and out.
- Tire maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of engines and controls brakes & suspensions hydraulics electrical systems etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong reading and comprehension skills
- Must be able to operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite Word and Excel
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Professionalism
- Detail-oriented with strong filing and organization skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of car/truck/bus/small engine repair
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must sign the Statement of Faith
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is required
- College vocational apprenticeship military or life experience preferred
- A Charis Bible College graduate is preferred
- CDL Drivers License preferred but not necessary
- Must pass all required checks including an MVR check
Experience:
- Three or more years of fleet maintenance repairs and maintenance
- Compensation commensurate with experience
