About This Opportunity

Metro South Health continues to lead the way in delivering culturally safe person-centred care through its Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence (SQCoE) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care based in Inala.

Were proud to be working with Metro South Hospital and Health Service (MSH) to promote this important Identified position a role dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families across southern Queensland.

As the Clinical Nurse Child Health Primary Health Care (Identified) youll provide advanced clinical care cultural leadership and education to support children and families in accessing high-quality culturally responsive health services.

This is a permanent full-time role with real purpose blending professional excellence with community impact.

About Metro South Health

With a strong commitment to First Nations Health Equity MSH partners with Elders community representatives and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals to close the gap in health outcomes.

The Inala Centre of Excellence is home to innovative models of care including the Mums and Bubs program specialist GP and allied health services and outreach initiatives designed to improve access self-care and choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

Your Key Contributions

  • Deliver advanced nursing and child health care services in a culturally safe holistic and family-centred way.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to other nurses students and health workers.
  • Work collaboratively with families Elders and community partners to deliver care aligned with local cultural protocols.
  • Contribute to health promotion programs addressing key child health issues such as nutrition respiratory conditions and chronic disease management.
  • Participate in community outreach and education sessions empowering families with knowledge and support.

About You

To succeed in this role youll need:

  • To identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • A Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and Postgraduate qualification in Child Health.
  • A commitment to culturally safe practice community engagement and ongoing learning.
  • A passion for improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
