Senior Strategic Buyer

Tyco Fire Products LP seeks Senior Strategic Buyer at its facility located at 5757 Green Bay Ave. Glendale WI 53209.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Collaborate with the corporate Category Management team. Evaluate sources of supply and develop optimal pricing warranty and performance requirements. Utilize strategic supply chain models for maximum savings. Identify new sources of supply and acceptable new products/technologies. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners based on JCI policies. Provide services to Product Business Unit and Category Management representatives. Lead analysis and make recommendations for Make/Buy decisions competitive bids or engineering changes. Liaise with the Product Business Unit to ensure site spend aligns with sourcing strategy. Evaluate potential suppliers on site-specific issues. Analyze customers business and evaluate potential savings through supplier consolidation. Execute category strategy and action plans. Develop sourcing strategies and implement local programs. Manage all steps in the sourcing process (RFQ change management contract negotiations dispute resolutions etc.). Support cost modeling and related activities (VA/VE and Kaizen). Ensure smooth new product launches and maintain purchasing results through the product lifecycle. Structure NPI pricing and Long-Term Agreement (LTA) agreements with cost reductions. Lead and participate in supplier negotiations. Prepare implement and audit compliance with contracts. Resolve supplier delivery quality service and document issues. Act as the primary point of contact for supplier interactions and performance assessments. Maintain knowledge of suppliers organization product lines and contractual agreements. Compile information for Suppliers Scorecard. Analyze departmental spend and recommend supplier consolidation. Conduct supplier surveys/evaluations/visits and provide feedback. Negotiate payment terms and enroll suppliers in JCI supply chain financing programs. Improve working capital through optimized payment terms and VMI programs. Conduct data analysis on suppliers supply market cost and price of goods and services. Track and maintain records in Wave and other systems related to procurement metrics. Review monthly Purchase Price Variance report to ensure cost savings. Lead standard cost setting for assigned categories plants or distribution centers. Execute and track assigned Wave/Project Initiatives and report to senior management. Stay updated on supply market intelligence procedures and business issues. Recommend improvements to business processes and work environment. Support develop and/or execute Health Initiatives procurement business process improvement initiatives and/or transformation projects. Process contracts in accordance with delegation of authority guidelines. Ensure compliance with master agreements and preferred suppliers. Resolve discrepancies with Procure to Pay Service Center Receiving and Stakeholders. Expedite critical and strategic deliveries. Guarantee compliance with business operating procedures. Assist in systems training for stakeholders. Maintain catalog items specifically electronic catalogs. Ensure agreements are in the document management system. Provide technical support on category teams. Link market knowledge and site requirements to Procurement Manager. Telecommuting: 100% Allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering Supply Chain or a related field. Plus three (3) years of experience as a Strategic Buyer Sourcing Buyer or related occupation in the procurement field. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Utilizing SAP to do multiple transactions and run reports; (2) Facilitate multiple projects at the same time and ensure they comply with company policy; (3) Understand costing and develop should cost pricing methodology; (4) Determining and utilizing strategic supply chain model to acquire the necessary products and services at the maximum level of savings; (5) Identifying new sources of supply and potentially acceptable new products/technologies; and (6) Establishing/maintaining professional relationships with suppliers/partners.
