Clinical Assessment & Process
Follow WIC program policies and procedures for eligibility assessments and benefit issuance.
Explain the WIC program determine client eligibility and gather anthropometric hematologic and dietary data.
Identify nutrition and health risks assign WIC priority status and provide appropriate food prescriptions.
Maintain accurate complete and confidential documentation of all assessments.
Counseling and Client Education
Provide individualized nutrition and breastfeeding counseling using motivational interviewing and evidence-based guidance.
Develop and document client goals offering education that is tailored to each participants nutritional status literacy level and lifestyle.
Identify and refer high-risk clients to a WIC Registered Dietitian as needed.
Create and deliver group education sessions newsletters and displays to promote healthy living and engagement.
Community Outreach
Organize and conduct outreach clinics to reach WIC-eligible clients outside the main service area.
Partner with community organizations and WIC vendors to increase awareness of WIC services and address client concerns.
Participate in outreach initiatives to maintain client participation and program growth.
Professional Development
Participate in required State WIC trainings and maintain ongoing education in nutrition and breastfeeding.
Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
Other Duties as Assigned
Support community events special projects and internal quality improvement efforts.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned and maintain active engagement.
Qualifications
Licensed or Registered Dietetic Technician preferred.
Experience in nutrition counseling community health or maternal/child health strongly preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences.
