Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Location: Dundee

Grade: G9

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Product Engineering Team based in Dundee. This graduate position involves working as part of a multi-discipline team in Dundee (and with other facilities and suppliers) in the support design evaluation and test of ATMs (Auto-Teller Machines for the Banking Industry) and the devices used in ATMs.

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a background in Mechanical Engineering to join our team. Youll be involved in a wide variety of technical design and problem-solving tasks with exposure to multiple disciplines and a broad view of the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work on new product developments designing mechanical parts and mechanisms - including injection moulded parts sheet metal parts castings turned parts etc.
Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis
Working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture
Supplier engagement and change management
Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines to enable system wide integration
Design validation via design reviews stress analysis assembly tolerances testing and problem correction CLCA
Prepare drawings and procurement specifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Education: BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (or very similar STEM related discipline) min 2:1.
Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functions teams internally and externally.
Communication: Excellent verbal & written communication skills and ability to present to customers/ and or product management as well as communicating to team members.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Creo or SolidWorks preferred)
Experienced in using Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel software (Advanced Excel user an advantage)
