The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater anticipates a tenure-track faculty position in the Information Technology or Cybersecurity area beginning August 2026. Candidates at the Associate or Professor level must have the academic credentials to qualify for these positions including active scholarship service and a strong teaching record. This full-time position is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses research and service to the university and community. Research expertise should complement existing faculty expertise.
Job Details:
The successful candidates will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses as part of the Master of Science in Cybersecurity - Cyber Resilience Emphasis (course listings) and the Information Technology - Cybersecurity and Networking Emphasis Bachelor of Business Administration degree programs (course listings). The candidates will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages undergraduate and graduate students results in publications and contributes to advancing the department university profession and society. The candidates will also be expected to participate in service activities and embrace inclusion as university community members.
Responsibilities:
Full-time teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses. Research expectations include peer-reviewed journal articles case studies books book chapters and other intellectual contributions defined in the CoBE Faculty addition faculty members serve as advisors/mentors to students and are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research or other scholarly and creative activities. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental college and university levels as well as participation in community organizations as relevant to the candidates expertise and interest. Faculty at UW-W may be required to teach online and/or in a hybrid format or courses in the evenings or on weekends. Faculty may also elect to teach New Student Seminars or University Learning Communities or participate in other programs geared towards improving student success.
Department:
The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics. There are 20 full-time faculty and staff members supporting nearly 400 undergraduate majors and minors with emphases in logistics analytics project management global sourcing business analysis cybersecurity & networking and business analytics. A new NetLab Cyber Range has been established to augment the experiential learning with hands-on Cybersecurity and networking lab exercises.
The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is Wisconsins largest AACSB-accredited business school. The College enrolls over 4000 business undergraduate students offering 15 majors and 26 emphases. Nearly 1000 graduate students are enrolled in a breadth of online and on-campus programs including the Masters of Business Administration Master of Science in Cybersecurity Master of Science in Data Analytics Master of Science in Environmental Health and Safety Master of Science in Finance Master of Science in Marketing Master of Science in Education in School Business Management Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology and the Doctorate of Business Administration.
The minimum starting salary for this position will be $110000 candidates can expect a salary commensurate with the candidates education related experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in information technology or related disciplines such as management information systems cybersecurity and computer information systems from an AACSB-accredited institution or its equivalent.
ABD candidates may apply but must have their degree completed by the contract start date in August 2026; if not they will be hired on a one-year contract with the understanding that their degree will be completed before January 2027 in advance of their first scheduled review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of prior teaching experiences at the post-secondary level in computer networking and cybersecurity topics.
Obtained relevant industry certifications including but not limited to Network Security CEH CISSP and SANS GIAC etc.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching with an emphasis on promoting students success clear evidence of scholarly potential commitment to working with diverse populations and serving as an active university community member. Salary is commensurate with academic preparation and experience.
Willingness and ability to actively follow applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
