Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Multi-Family Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team in Dallas. This role plays a key part in developing accurate detailed and competitive cost estimates for multi-family residential projects. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of architectural drawings construction methods and current market pricing while collaborating closely with architects engineers and project managers to ensure projects are cost-effective and delivered to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for multi-family residential construction projects.
- Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to determine scope quantities and materials.
- Estimate costs related to perimeter fencing gates dumpsters enclosures railings stairs pedestrian gates pools and other architectural components.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review design documents identify value-engineering opportunities and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of construction costs material pricing and labor rates in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.
- Assist with budget development bid proposals and project takeoffs.
Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of estimating experiencewithin architectural multi-family or commercial construction environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and current market costs.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency required).
- Excellent analytical mathematical and communication skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience estimating architectural site and amenity components (fencing pools railings stairs etc.).
- Familiarity with multi-family wood-frame podium and garden-style construction.
- Strong vendor and subcontractor network within the DFW area.
