The Global Data Organisation serves as the first line of defense in securing robust data chains working in close collaboration with all functions business lines and countries across the Bank.
The Global Chief Data Office (CDO) plays a pivotal role in this mission. As a central organizational unit the CDO partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to enable frictionless customer journeys support ESG-driven innovation and deliver data products that enhance decision-making. With emerging trends such as digital wallets on the horizon and increasing regulatory expectations around data governance the CDO is evolving to meet these challenges head-on ensuring our data remains both a strategic asset and a safeguarded resource.
The opportunity
As part of the Global CDO organization the Center of Expertise for Global Data Products plays a pivotal role in shaping INGs data product strategy and execution. Data Products are reusable recognizable and coherently grouped datasets built on a shared relational model and language. They are foundational to INGs ambition to become a data-driven digital leader enabling scalable compliant and high-quality data consumption across the Bank.
The CoE leads the strategic development and orchestration of INGs global data product roadmap ensuring alignment with the broader data and technology vision regulatory expectations and MBB/MBB-1 priorities. The team drives the creation of enterprise-grade data products ensuring reusability across entities and domains and adherence to INGs frameworks and controls.
This role comes with a clear mandate to drive global alignment across entities and domains ensuring commitment to shared priorities and timelines despite local capacity constraints. The CoE Lead will also navigate a critical organizational transition balancing domain-specific integration with the need to maintain a strong global mandate within the CDO. Additionally the role requires clarity and leadership across the delivery value chain especially in light of reduced dedicated capacity and evolving connections to engineering capabilities.
As CoE Lead for Global Data Products you will steer a team of expert leads and orchestrators across business lines domains and countries working closely with Retail CDO communities Global Data Management Scalable Data Services and the BCBS239 Tribe. You will translate strategic priorities into scalable execution embed metadata and master data capabilities and foster one global data product roadmap.
You report hierarchically to the Global CDO and are a member of the CDO Management Team.
Your Responsibilities
As CoE Lead for Global Data Products you are responsible for:
Define and drive INGs global data product strategy ensuring alignment with the broader data and technology vision regulatory priorities and business objectives.
Steer the global data product roadmap orchestrating delivery across business lines domains and countries and ensuring consistent prioritization and progress reporting to senior leadership.
Enable the creation of reusable enterprise-grade data products selecting the right data models centrally and ensuring adherence to INGs frameworks and controls.
Lead end-to-end orchestration of data product development through dedicated expert leads for Retail Wholesale Banking Tech COO Risk and Finance.
Embed metadata and master data capabilities across the data product lifecycle ensuring traceability consistency and value realization through tools like Collibra.
Foster strong functional ties with Retail CDO communities translating global priorities into local execution and strengthening the global roadmap.
Build strong relationships with senior leaders (MBB/MBB-1) and influence strategic decisions.
Act as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment between strategic priorities and data initiatives.
Represent INGs data product strategy in internal and external forums.
Collaborate with central data teams (e.g. Global Data Management Scalable Data Services BCBS239 Tribe) to ensure alignment and integration of data products with INGs data governance and control frameworks.
Represent INGs data product strategy in internal and external forums ensuring visibility alignment and thought leadership across the data ecosystem.
Build and lead a high-performing team of change experts and orchestrators fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and excellence.
Ensure measurable impact through KPIs KRIs and strategic milestones and provide clear insights on roadmap health risks and outcomes to senior stakeholders.
Your competencies
We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused leader with deep expertise in data product strategy and orchestration. You are known for your ability to drive alignment across complex stakeholder landscapes and deliver scalable solutions with measurable impact.
15 years in enterprise data leadership across banking operations or consultancy.
Proven success leading large-scale data programs in matrixed multicultural organizations.
Strong domain expertise in banking risk finance and customer data.
Skilled in data modeling metadata and master data orchestration.
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (BCBS239 GDPR AI Act).
Trusted advisor to senior stakeholders; experienced in C-Suite engagement.
Known for building high-performing teams and simplifying complexity.
Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills.
Execution-focused collaborative and resilient in dynamic settings.
