Structural Analysis Engineer (Entry Level and Associate)

The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Entry Level and Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 1 and Level 2) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.

Position Responsibilities: (Level 1)

  • Performs limited structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Participates in various test activities substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
  • Works under close supervision.

Position Responsibilities: (Level 2)

  • Performs basic structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety) using classical techniques and Boeing tools to support drawing release and limited support to the Manufacturing Review Board process.
  • Develops complex structural math models and performs analysis using finite element methods to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity.
  • Performs basic structural analysis to support response to customer inquiries service bulletin development failure investigation and regulatory agency coordination.
  • Performs structural analysis to support trade studies and configuration development.
  • Creates strength check notes to document analysis. Provides inputs to formal documentation to show compliance with Boeing customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and supports in-house software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Assists in the research and preparation of data to support definition of structural design requirements.
  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):(Level 1)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical Civil Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Exposure to Finite Element Models (FEM) in academic and classwork
  • Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Able to independently construct execute review and manage structural finite element models
  • 1 or more years of experience in structural analysis
  • Experience with Hypermesh Abaqus CAE and/or Nastran
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g. fatigue damage tolerance corrosion stress analysis statics materials strength material characteristics and repair techniques)
  • Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives Commercial and/or Military applications (& 777)

Summary Pay Range - Level 1: $61200 - 82800

Summary Pay Range - Level 2: $71400 - 96600
