Foundry Training Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Foundry Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the onboarding and training activities for all new hires as well as continuous improvement and skill development training for experienced employees.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct hands-on training to new Foundry employees to achieve certifications for casting operations.
- Administer continuous recurring training to all Foundry employees to develop skills and build cross-functionality.
- Manage and maintain quality certifications for Foundry production employees in accordance with SOP requirements.
- Collaborate with the Foundry area manager to develop and deploy strategic training plans that support the throughput demands of the department.
- Develop enhanced training materials (videos handbooks presentations etc.) to drive continuous improvement of the training programs effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing engineers to identify and alleviate human factors related to foundry operator tasks.
- Perform daily process control audits of operator compliance to SOP and part-specific work instructions.
- Provide recommendations to Engineering to improve clarity and effectiveness of area procedures.
- Provide hands-on floor-level support for investigations and corrective actions for scrap events driven by human factors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the Foundry department.
Critical Skills and Requirements:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support training of employees on all shifts (this may include occasionally working on nights and/or weekends).
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing action plans that deliver measurable results.
- Strong interpersonal capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook).
Desired Skills:
- Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively in collaborative team environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects successfully.
Experience & Education:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a vacuum casting furnace operator.
