Job Summary

The successful applicant will support the Pricing team to prepare quotes for clients reinsurance requests. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for analyzing quote material setting assumptions and providing input to support business decisions regarding potential opportunities.  Given this is a small team the incumbent will also ensure modeling is sufficient and assist in assumption research and development based on other priorities. As the portfolio grows the incumbent will review experience of inforce treaties to ensure the business is performing as expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the pricing best estimate and all assumptions leading to its derivation for quote opportunities. 
  • Support assumption development and product pricing strategies for Pricing team.
  • Determine the level of complexity needed for modeling and work with the modeler to ensure input and output meet the needs of the opportunity.
  • Ensure that models meet corporate guidelines reflect best practices and are updated for regulatory changes (e.g. USGAAP LDTI and PBR)
  • Create and maintain documentation of pricing materials to support internal peer review internal approval and finalize for future audit requests.
  • Interact with clients as appropriate to gather information and support pricing exercise.

Qualifications :

Technical Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge of GGY AXIS software (or comparable actuarial modeling system) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of other programs such as R SQL Tableau Python is a plus.

Work Experience:

  • US Life insurance experience required.
  • Deep knowledge of life pricing and/or product development required.

Professional Qualifications or Designations:

 

  • FSA or experienced ASA required.
