Essential Job Responsibilities
- Meets and instructs students at designated locations
- Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation and implementation on request of immediate supervisor
- Provides an effective program of instruction based on the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. This should include but not be limited to:
- Assist all students to achieve at their highest potential
- Demonstrate accurate up-to-date knowledge of content
- Implement designated curriculum
- Teach at an appropriate instructional level
- Use data in making instructional decisions
- Promote student engagement and provide appropriate assessments
- Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Use a variety of teaching materials and techniques
- Integrate the appropriate use of technology and multimedia in the classroom
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities
- Maintain records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations
- Enforce regulations from the Ownership in Education manual concerning student conduct and discipline
- Attend and participate in faculty department and district meetings
- Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes when necessary and under reasonable terms
- Assist in the selection of books equipment technology and other instructional materials
- Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students parents and colleagues concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of students
- Establish and maintain cooperative professional relations with others
- Maintain confidentiality of students and student records
- Model correct use of language oral and written
- Maintain standards as specified inProfessional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees
Reports to
- Building Principal or designees
Terms of Employment
- 180-day position with wages hours terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association
