OFFICE OF RESEARCH SERVICES
The Office of Research Services (ORS) within the Office of the Vice-President Research (OVPR) and under the direction of the Executive Director ORS provides pre-awards post-awards partnership development intellectual property (IP) & agreements management technology and knowledge transfer commercialization and legal advice and support services to faculty staff and students on the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 8:15 am - 4:30 pm 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $54614- $70998 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director Research Operations and Services the IT Support Specialist will review existing tools processes and platforms to determine the best path forward for on-boarding and ongoing maintenance of those tools and addition they will oversee the implementation and training to end users in ORS and in all faculties and departments.
- Create a workplan and schedule that identifies and sequences activities that are needed to successfully implement various software tools and manage the life cycle software systems.
- Manage and support enterprise-level software platforms and user environments such as the VPR and ORS SharePoint sites.
- Configure and maintain systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware software and network issues.
- Maintain user accounts permissions and system access across multiple platforms.
- Work with vendors to understand the different software tools to ensure they are being implemented properly and maintain relationships for ongoing support of software tools.
- Receive training on the various tools so this can be translated to our research community which may involve implementing new systems.
- Work with faculties and departments to promote uptake of different software tools and develop protocols and provide training and support for end users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and document technology solutions.
- Monitor progress of projects and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the projects.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff who are leading individual projects ITS and the research community.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the projects as established during the planning phase.
- Work with UNBs Integrated Technology Services to ensure systems meet UNBs IT policies and integrate with current systems.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology Business Technology Computer Systems or a related field.
- Prior experience as a business or IT analyst or relevant experience as a project manager.
