Job Summary:
The unregistered Sleep Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing analysis and associated interventions (PAP titration) under the general oversight of the Sleep Center Medical Director or designee and must be staffed with a registered technician. Provides patient education on sleep health. Assists with set up of Home Sleep testing equipment.
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of a Polysomnographic the training courses in order to become state licensed and/or nationally accredited with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
Licensures/ Certifications:
- Will become a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) within a year.
- CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period.
Experience:
- Six months of experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
