The Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDCS) has an exciting job opportunity for a Data Scientist 1.

Work location: the University of Miamis Coral Gables Campus.

CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Data Scientist 1 is proficient at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of addition the Data Scientist 1 uses a variety of data mining and analysis methods using a range of data tools building and implementing models using and creating algorithms and creating and running simulations. Moreover the Data Scientist 1 should drive business results with data-based insights and must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements AI models using deep learning and/or statistical methods to generate predictive insights from complex datasets.
Analyzes cleans and validates data to ensure accuracy and usability for modeling purposes.
Designs and deploys automation scripts to enhance efficiency in data analysis visualization error detection and dataset augmentation.
Monitors and maintains database integrity; identify and resolve inconsistencies or missing data and propose enhancements for data collection.
Conducts experiments to evaluate and optimize model performance; continuously update models based on testing and new data.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Masters degree in relevant field required.

Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Skill in collecting organizing and analyzing data.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
