DescriptionOverview
The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for managing the receipt sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. This includes handling courier services maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely delivery to appropriate recipients across the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive sort and distribute all inbound mail and packages including 1st Class Mail FedEx UPS and other courier services.
- Record all barcoded mail in the clients tracking system and maintain logs of deliveries and mailing dates.
- Notify recipients of deliveries and follow up to confirm receipt.
- Utilize carts or hand trucks for larger deliveries; check docks for pallets and undelivered packages.
- Manage outgoing mail and packages including preparing shipments and delivering to local drop-off points.
- Monitor and respond to emails promptly; track delayed shipments and investigate issues.
- Ensure all received goods are stored securely and delivered to designated recipients.
- Clean and organize mailroom surfaces floors and equipment; restock supplies and report safety hazards.
- Assist with weekly and annual inventory audits; support client staff with mailroom and copier supplies.
- Operate and troubleshoot mailroom equipment (copiers binders laminators etc.); clear jams and refill supplies.
- Act as point of contact for mail/package inquiries and assist with special assignments or trouble calls.
Qualifications Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift packages weighing 2530 lbs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency with Windows-based computers and basic software applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- 1 year of similar work experience
- 1 years in mailroom shipping/receiving or administrative support roles
- Experience supporting executives or working in fast-paced environments
