The Department of Health and Human Performances Leisure and Sport Management Program at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (#118040) in sport management at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1 2026.
The successful candidate will be highly engaged in research and community service and pursue interdisciplinary collaboration with potential for external funding and contracts. We seek a candidate with a collaborative engaged student-centered approach to performance and responsibilities. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate major in Leisure and Sport Management the masters degree in Leisure Sport and Tourism Management and the doctoral degree in Human Performance with a concentration in Leisure Studies. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following: relevant teaching and mentorship experience in undergraduate and graduate sport studies sport management or sport governance curricula; a commitment to excellence in teaching; an ability to develop effective rapport with students and colleagues; experience with the design and delivery of both online and face-to-face coursework and curricula; and evidence of a focused productive and potentially fundable research program.
A terminal degree in sport management recreation sport parks leisure services management or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
