Description

Job Summary: Porter is responsible for supporting Schaffers Camp by maintaining clean safe and inviting front-of-house guest areas during winter operations. Responsible for all aspects of FOH cleaning and snow removal to ensure guest comfort and safety.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Arrive on time groomed and ready for daily lineup.
Top priority: Clean and reset all FOH spaces including entryways dining rooms restrooms walkways and public areas throughout each shift.
Remove snow and ice from building entrances decks walkways gondola landing emergency exits and any outdoor guest spaces to maintain accessibility and safety in snowy conditions.
Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment dispose of trash and recycling promptly.
Perform periodic deep cleaning and special projects in FOH areas as assigned (windows carpets brass furniture).
Monitor weather conditions and adapt snow removal schedule as required for changing winter conditions.
Assist with moving and organizing furniture and support special event setups for FOH needs.
Report maintenance issues and participate in basic repairs (changing bulbs minor fixes) as assigned.
Uphold all Club safety health and sanitation standards including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Attend staff meetings and assist crew as needed during peak periods or emergencies.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the Clubs operation it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore as an essential part of your job you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly you may be expected to perform other tasks not specifically addressed above.

Reports to: FOH/BOH Manager Restaurant Supervisor or Manager on Duty depending on shift and assignment.

Qualifications

work. Knowledge of cleaning techniques products and equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks. Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks. Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations. Flexibility to work weekends holidays and varying shifts.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English and/or Spanish to understand job duties and job safety.

Certificates/Licenses/Safety Training: Bloodborne Pathogen Training Heat Illness Prevention Training Workplace Violence Prevention Training Harassment Prevention Training and all other training as determined by Tahoe Mountain Club.

Qualifications:

Prior porter janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
Good communication and teamwork skills; English required (Spanish is a plus).

California Food Handlers Card and safety training required

Frequent standing walking lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
Must work outdoors in snow and cold operate snow removal equipment and walk on snow during shift.
Ability to ride the gondola for commuting to Schaffers Camp.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals wet/damp surfaces confined spaces and height.
