Shift: 6AM-2PM Monday-Friday
Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a RN or LPN for our Mobile Medication Unit (MMU). CMS believes in the importance of expanding access to care for all individuals seeking treatment for opioid use disorder. Using a mobile medication unit (MMU) we can provide care to individuals who have previously faced barriers getting or staying connected to medication assisted treatment. The MMU will maintain consistent hours at various locations to support the individuals who live near or are obtaining services through the agency at that location.
The proposed target population for the MMU are individuals aged 18 or older who meet the diagnostic criteria and eligibility for opioid use disorder and medication assisted treatment. Through the MMU CMS hopes to provide treatment to populations that have been traditionally underserved including those who lack access to MAT because of their current housing situations (i.e. residential treatment homelessness) engage in sex work face transportation challenges engage in intravenous drug use or are pregnant.
The Nurse is responsible for administering medication to clients; assisting medical providers; conducting required testing; maintaining medication inventory and audit records; and provide support to the overall operations of the MMU. Above all the Nurse is responsible for providing patient-centered care in a professional environment.

Were looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with multi-cultural and low socio-economic individuals.
- Is excited to work in an outpatient setting much like a doctors office.
- Brings residential experience and knowledge of psychotropic medications.
Responsibilities:
- Administers medications as ordered/prescribed by a CMS medical provider.
- Prepares daily doses for patients assigned to the MMU.
- Responsible for driving MMU to designated locations.
- Completes vehicle inspections.
- Completes of opening/closing checklists.
- Assists with transferring medications from clinic to MMU.
- Maintains accurate medication inventory records.
- Monitors medication administration closely to prevent diversion.
- Reports diversion to proper internal authorities.
- Monitors behavioral patterns medical symptoms and physical symptoms related to dosage as well as other symptoms related to drug use (both licit and illicit) and mental health concerns.
- Obtains vital signs blood specimens and urine samples.
- Maintains accurate client records in companys EHR system.
- Documents medication errors and responds to adverse medical reactions per company policy.
- Adheres to all federal state local and accrediting body regulations.
- Administers CPR if necessary.
- Participates in continuing education and/or other job-related training
- Adheres to and enforces company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Licensed LPN or RN in state of employment
- CPR certification required
- Ability to travel to assigned CMS sites
- Experience in the field of substance use disorders preferred but not required
- Knowledge of the signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms
- Demonstrates accuracy in medication administration and ability to maintain accurate client records
- Must have reliable transportation
- Current Driver License and Motor Vehicle Clearance (clean driving record for 39 months).
