Workplace type: 4 day/week On- site and 1 day/week Remote

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Technician to join our Food Pilot Plant team belonging in US/CAN Customer Innovation Organization. This role is pivotal in supporting the operation and maintenance of dairy processing applications and addition to hands-on technical responsibilities the position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with GMP FSMA HACCP and essential microbiological safety protocols and measures.

The Principal Technician will also contribute to customer engagements and global innovation project trials across various categories. A foundational understanding of food safety standards food processing techniques and microbiological testing is essential for success in this role.

The Principal Technician reports to the Senior Technologist Food Pilot Plant.

What you will do:

• Operate and maintain dairy processing equipment in the pilot plant.
• Support technical trials and troubleshoot process issues.
• Ensure food safety through GMP HACCP and microbiological testing.
• Document processes and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to innovation projects.
• Become certified on key equipment and serve as a backup trainer.
• Drive continuous improvement and support plant operations.

What you will bring:

• Associate degree in the relevant technical field or B.S in Food Science or equivalent technical field.
• Knowledge of common food processes and food ingredients and microbiological knowledge
• Prior pilot plant experience and basic knowledge of process protocols Excellent organizational verbal and written communication skills
• Experience handling technical information desired. (i.e. food formulations food processing specifications pilot plant procedures GMP HACCP etc.) Demonstrated attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and ability to learn other platforms as needed

Pay Range:

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
