About the Role
The Grade 2 Registered Nurse under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in his/her specific area. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring his/her own professional development in order to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.
Provide the full range of nursing services including but not limited to:
Manage physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures protocols and policies
Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit
Document observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress
Liaise with patient patients family medical and ancillary staff as required or requested
Completion of Handover in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures
Effective admission and discharge processes in accordance with Hospital or Unit guidelines
Actively participate in mentor/preceptorship programs
In liaison with the Nurse Unit Manager identify and implement educational needs of the Unit
Participate in ongoing education by attend training and study days as required or requested.
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69253.60 - $92601.60 pro rata per annum).
Your Contribution
Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Current Practicing Certificate that meets the requirements of Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
Current experience in Acute Care Nursing
Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

7 East is a 28 bed ward providing specialised care to patients with colorectal urology and gastroenterology disorders. We admit both elective and emergency cases. The patients have complex needs the very ward is busy with high acuity and our team is skilled and supportive. We have a strong focus on multidisciplinary care education and research.
