Where youll be working You will be working in the main referral hospital and the primary facility for the treatment of trauma for the North West region of Queensland. The hospital provides ambulatory sub-ambulatory and inpatient services. The Anaesthetics Department comprises 3 operating theatres and a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit (ICU/HDU). Procedures for both adults and children are performed across a diverse range of specialties including general surgery acute trauma obstetrics and gynaecology orthopaedics ophthalmology gastroenterology and dental.
This role offers the opportunity to develop in your areas of clinical interest within anaesthesia such as ICU perioperative medicine pain management and medical education. The hospital is also an active site for training and you will also have the opportunity to teach junior medical staff and contribute to the hospitals efforts towards continued improvement and innovation.
Where youll be living You will be living in a region known as the centre of Queenslands desert heart. Located on the banks of the stunning Leichhardt River between Brisbane and Townsville this is a family friendly regional city rich with community pride and Indigenous history. Here there is no shortage of wide open spaces red soil desertscapes distinctive wildlife and things to explore. Salary information Consultant Anaesthetists can expect a total remuneration package up to $650288 p.a.
Requirements Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent. Anaesthetists eligible for the fast-track registration pathway are encouraged to apply.
