Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef specializing in Lebanese cuisine to join our culinary team in Cairo Egypt. As the Sous Chef you will play a crucial role in creating authentic Lebanese dishes managing kitchen operations and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and menu planning
- Prepare and cook authentic Lebanese dishes ensuring consistency and quality
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to keep the offerings fresh and exciting
- Train and supervise kitchen staff fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean organized kitchen
- Manage inventory place orders and control food costs
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
- Step in for the Executive Chef when necessary demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills
Qualifications :
- Proven experience (3-5 years minimum) in Lebanese cuisine preferably in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- In-depth knowledge of Lebanese ingredients flavors and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of Middle Eastern culinary traditions
- Excellent kitchen management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in menu planning recipe development and food costing
- Advanced culinary techniques and knife skills
- Up-to-date food safety certification
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Creativity and passion for Lebanese cuisine
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps.
