3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
The role involves supporting adults with a variety of needs - including learning disabilities physical or sensory impairments autism or dementia - across a range of community and centre-based settings.
You will promote independence inclusion and improved wellbeing using a strengths-based approach and person-centred planning.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Support individuals with daily living activities both in centres and the wider community.
Assist with personal care medication administration and use of mobility aids/equipment.
Contribute to person-centred care and support plans.
Complete records maintain confidentiality and follow all safeguarding procedures.
Act as a keyworker and advocate for individuals liaising with families carers and professionals.
Participate in risk assessments meetings and reviews.
Provide guidance to new staff and support the induction process.
Maintain a safe and clean environment reporting any concerns promptly.
Drive service vehicles (if eligible) support outings and accompany individuals in the community.
Skills/Experience:
Some experience in community work or care services (paid or voluntary).
Ability to support individuals in varied settings with compassion respect and dignity.
Strong communication skillsverbal written and non-verbal.
Knowledge of safeguarding disability awareness and person-centred care.
Comfortable providing personal care and supporting individuals with complex needs.
Ability to manage emotional situations and challenging behaviour with a calm approach.
Basic IT skills and understanding of data protection/confidentiality.
Willingness to undertake training including QCF Level 3 in Care (or equivalent).
Able to travel across sites and work flexibly.

The post requires an Enhanced DBS and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
