Electrical Design Engineer, Next-Gen Heat Pump Helsingborg

Founded in 2022 and with 1000 employees and counting Aira is driving the clean energy revolution by providing homes with modern clean energy-tech solutions such as solar power battery storage solutions and heat pumps. With a state-of-the-art production facility in Poland an HQ in Stockholm Helsingborg where this role is located Aira has built a brand new development center. We have hubs across the UK Germany and Italy Aira is well on track to install clean energy-tech into 5 million homes by 2034.

About the role

We are growing our product development department and are now looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join us on our journey of shaping the future of clean energy.

In this role situated in our brand-new R&D Center at Berga Helsingborg you wont just design youll help drive innovation at the core of Airas next-generation heat pump technology. As part of our fast-scaling team youll influence how we work accelerate product development and bring bold ideas into reality.

What youll be doing

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be at the heart of developing the next generation of Airas intelligent heat pumps. Your work will span the full development cycle from concept to detailed design testing verification and preparation for manufacturing giving you the opportunity to make a direct impact on how our products take shape and reach the market.

Youll design and develop cutting-edge electrical and mechanical solutions with a strong focus on 2D and 3D representation of assemblies and wire harnesses. Beyond design work you will influence our ways of working and the technologies we choose playing a pivotal role in shaping Airas future product portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing electrical assemblies Bills of Materials and component selections tailored for high-performance heat pumps.
• Creating detailed technical documentation including 3D models 2D and 3D drawings (experience with PLM tools SolidWorks and AutoCAD is highly valued).
• Designing internal wire harnesses and schematics to ensure robust and efficient system performance.
• Actively contributing in project meetings and reporting progress to product management.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with customer needs regulatory standards and overall product vision.
• Exploring and integrating innovative materials such as plastics and sheet metals to elevate product quality sustainability and long-term reliability.

What youll bring to the role

• At least 3 years experience working with product development and electrical design.
• Experience working with 2D & 3D tools to design electrical connections and cable routing in 2D & 3D environment. Solidworks Autodesk Inventor AutoCad or similar are meritorious.
• Experience with LVD & EN60335-1 RED & EMC directives and knowledge & familiarity with regulatory certification requirements & compliance is an advantage.
• Experience working with various materials such as plastic metal etc.
• An open mind and a passion to work in a start-up environment with high ambition to quickly scale up.
