Our client is looking for a competent and self-motivated Drill Fitter to join their on-site maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections maintenance and field repairs on surface exploration drilling rigs compressors and related equipment. This role suits an individual with strong mechanical and hydraulic diagnostic skills attention to safety and the ability to work independently in remote site conditions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections maintenance and field repairs on surface exploration drilling rigs compressors and related equipment. This role suits an individual with strong mechanical and hydraulic diagnostic skills attention to safety and the ability to work independently in remote site conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on drill rigs (Core RC and Multipurpose)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic faults on-site
- Inspect and service diesel engines compressors and auxiliary systems
- Support rig mobilization/demobilization and ensure readiness for operations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs service reports and part usage records
- Perform daily pre-start checks and ensure safe work procedures are followed
- Collaborate with drill crews and supervisors to minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with company and client HSE policies and standards
- Assist in parts inventory management and requisition of consumables
Core Competencies
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic repair knowledge (drill rigs compressors powerpacks)
- Ability to perform troubleshooting in remote field conditions
- Competent with maintenance planning and documentation
- Good understanding of HSE procedures in workshop and field environments
- Proactive communication and teamwork with operators and supervisors
- Adaptability to changing field conditions and workloads
Qualifications & Certifications
- Recognised Trade Certificate in Fitting Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Valid certifications in First Aid Defensive Driving and HSE Inductions
- Familiarity with OEM specifications and preventive maintenance schedules
- Literacy in English for maintenance reporting and documentation
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience in maintaining exploration drill rigs and support equipment in Ghana
- Strong working knowledge of major exploration zones such as Ashanti Belt Wa-Lawra and Tarkwa
- Background in field-based maintenance for mining or exploration contractors
- Ghanaian candidates strongly encouraged to apply (local hire only)
