Qualifications / Experience

• IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience
• Chief Expert level experience in DevOps engineering and full stack development
• Proven track record in enterprise platform development and maintenance
• Experience providing 2nd and 3rd level technical operational support
• Agile working methodology experience (Mandatory)
• Standby and high-priority support rotation experience
• Expertise in Splunk/Cribl Observability Platform Development

Essential Skills Requirements

• Infrastructure as Code: Advanced experience with Terraform and Ansible for AWS/Azure cloud resource provisioning and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of version control modular design and environment consistency.
• CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment): Expertise designing implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Deep knowledge of branching strategies artifact management and rollback procedures.
• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in Python and Bash with ability to automate platform-related tasks including data collection report generation and alert management.
• Cloud Experience (AWS or Azure): Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure including deploying managing and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure.
• Strong familiarity with EC2 S3 Lambda functions Azure functions networking and security services.
• Splunk Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of Splunk platform architecture features and capabilities. High-level knowledge of Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) dashboards alerts and Splunk-specific tools and functionalities.

• Advanced Splunk dashboards and alerting capabilities
• Cribl onboarding and development including volume reduction enrichment and data value mining

• Security best practices in cloud environments
• Performance testing tools and methodologies

Role Requirements

• Design develop and maintain the Observability platform ensuring enterprise-grade quality
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical operational support including standby high-priority support on rotation
• Develop system solutions aligned with quality standards and delivery requirements
• Review code of team members ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards
• Coach and train fellow colleagues and users on platform capabilities and best practices
• Compile comprehensive user and operational manuals
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team members
• Ensure software availability maintainability and scalability across all environments
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning retrospectives and daily standups
• Handle deployments and releases with zero-downtime strategies
• Engage in sprint planning and monitoring activities
• Manage tenant requirements and maintain clear stakeholder communication
• Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficiency and reliability
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and platform performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration and deployment strategies
• Maintain compliance with enterprise security and governance standards
• Document technical specifications and architectural decisions
• Collaborate effectively with developers operations teams and stakeholders
• Coordinate with external vendors and third-party integration partners
• Analyze and implement business requirement specifications from DevOps perspective
• Review system proposals and provide expert technical input and recommendations
• Develop readable extendable reusable scalable and efficient automation scripts
• Ensure seamless handover capabilities with minimal transition requirements
• Maintain compliance and adherence to standards for audit and quality assurance
• Update user stories in JIRA and maintain documentation in Confluence
• Prepare comprehensive system/functional documentation and user manuals
• Escalate deviations blockers and impediments to relevant leadership
• Additional responsibilities as per AWM Charter or department manager direction
