Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. This role is critical in caring for patients requiring continuous monitoring and frequent assessments due to the nature of their condition. The ideal candidate will be an experienced RN capable of working both independently and collaboratively with sound clinical judgment and strong patient advocacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments of patients health status.
Deliver safe and effective nursing care using clinical judgment.
Monitor and respond to critical vital signs to prevent life-threatening situations.
Advocate for patients as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding medications procedures and treatments.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies procedures and patient care standards.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care ICU Stepdown RN experience.
Experience in Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU (3 years) also considered.
Active Florida RN license or compact state RN license (must obtain FL license within 60 days of relocation if applicable).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
- BSN preferred
Certifications (must be obtained within specific timeframes if not currently held):
- NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days of employment start
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment start
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of employment start (must be AHA-certified)
