Registered Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift)
Location: Sanford FL 32771
Shift: 12 hr Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Type: Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our night shift this role you will coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered respiratory care. You will be responsible for both therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures including mechanical ventilation management airway care and emergency response interventions. This position plays a key role in supporting the health and recovery of patients across various care units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments including breath sounds airway patency and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic tests to determine and assess the need for respiratory therapy.
- Administer various respiratory therapies (e.g. oxygen therapy aerosolized medications chest physiotherapy).
- Assist in the placement and management of artificial airways.
- Initiate monitor and manage patients on invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor therapeutic response and intervene as needed including notifying the provider of significant changes.
- Safely transport ventilator-dependent patients as necessary.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification:
- NBRC Certification Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active State of Florida RRT License
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) Required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required within 6 months
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Required within 6 months
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Required within 6 months
- Education:
- Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
- Experience:
- Open to new graduates (must have passed boards or be awaiting official license; no prior respiratory experience required)
