Job Summary:
The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit monitoring cardiac activity and responding to any dysrhythmias or changes in patient condition. The RN will administer medications manage cardiac drips (no titration) and provide comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular and related medical conditions. The role involves floating to similar units (MS/Cardiac) and requires strong assessment technical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to detect dysrhythmias and other cardiac abnormalities.
- Administer medications including cardiac drips (no titration) and IV insulin protocols.
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiovascular conditions including post-cardiac angiogram post-MI and pre/post cardiac catheterization.
- Perform blood product administration central line care/management peripheral line care/management and PICC line management.
- Manage patients with chest tubes external CPAP/BIPAP and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Respond to emergency situations and initiate rapid response protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care and observations accurately in Cerner.
- Float to like units (MS/Cardiac) as needed to meet facility staffing needs.
- Perform wound care and maintain isolation precautions.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in MS/Tele Telemetry or Cardiac Telemetry.
- BLS certification.
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote).

Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend (Fri/Sat for night shift).
- May float to similar units (MS/Cardiac). Not IMC/ICU.
- No on-call requirement.
- Must have active IL license in hand to apply.
- Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs.
- Parking Cost: parking permit required no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.
Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 NIGHTS (1845-0715).
- Discuss schedule request with manager.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
- Open to accommodating block schedule.
- RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
