Job Summary:

This role is for a Phlebotomist working in the Emergency Room (ER) unit responsible for collecting blood samples from patients. The position requires proficiency in various phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and capillary collection and adherence to safety protocols. The Phlebotomist will prioritize collections based on urgency and work collaboratively within the ER team.

Responsibilities:

- Perform venipuncture and capillary collection using a variety of tubes (Gray top Green Top Light blue top Purple top Red top).
- Collect arterial blood gas (ABG) samples.
- Perform finger sticks.
- Prioritize patient collections based on order request (stat timed routine).
- Perform point of care testing.
- Ensure proper patient positioning during blood collection.
- Maintain aseptic technique.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and safety guidelines.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
- Proficiency in using various blood collection tubes (Gray top Green Top Light blue top Purple top Red top Light blue top tubes).
- Experience with arterial blood gas (ABG) collection.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Experience with finger sticks.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy on all ages.
- Hospital experience.

- Not specified.

- Minimal restrictions on requested time off (RTO).
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
Scheduling:
- Friday and Saturday.
- Day/Evening shifts (7 AM/11 AM).
