Job Summary

QC Manager (Local/Expat) Living Quarters (LQ) Project Tianjin China 6-Month Contract (Extendable)

Location: BOMESC Yard Tianjin China
Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
Project Focus: Offshore Living Quarters (LQ) Modules & Compression Platform Fabrication
Open to both local and expatriate professionals

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the overall Quality Control (QC) function for the fabrication of offshore Living Quarters (LQ) modules and associated structures.
Ensure implementation of project-specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) quality procedures and client specifications.
Oversee multidiscipline QC teams (welding painting NDT structural piping electrical/instrumentation) and ensure adherence to inspection schedules.
Manage coordination with third-party inspectors client representatives and subcontractors for daily inspections and quality sign-offs.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with timely resolution and preventive actions.
Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits by client or certifying authorities.
Prepare and submit QC reports dossiers and final documentation in line with handover requirements.

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Structural or relevant Engineering field.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in QA/QC for offshore fabrication projects; strong preference for Living Quarters (LQ) utility platforms or topside modules.
Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor CSWIP/BGAS/ASNT Level II or III in relevant disciplines is highly advantageous.

Skills & Competencies:

Deep understanding of international codes and standards (e.g. AWS D1.1 ASME API ISO).
Familiar with client specifications and quality requirements for offshore fabrication.
Excellent team leadership skills in a multicultural construction yard environment.
Strong report writing and documentation skills in English.
Mandarin communication is a strong advantage for local interface and coordination.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in quality practices.
