Job Summary

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • Knowledge of governmental accounting budgeting and financial reporting.

  • Ability to build complex financial models databases and excel templates.

  • Knowledge of financial theory and principles of business management operations and practices.

  • Advanced skill in Excel with a strong fluency in formulas and functions (e.g. Pivot Tables Vlookup charts tables and / or other related software packages).

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field.

    • Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in financial systems or cost allocation.

    • Two years or more of supervisory or management experience.

    • CPA preferred but not required.

Additional Information

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

This position may be eligible for a statutory 2.5% an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2026.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena.

The Financial Systems Manager leads the integration of cost allocation and APD financial management functions across DPHHS. This position is responsible for overseeing the Departments cost allocation methodologies federal compliance for IT systems funding and financial planning for large-scale IT procurements. The role ensures strategic alignment of financial systems with federal and state regulations supervises a team of accountants and analysts and serves as a key liaison with federal agencies.
