The DVHA Data Analytics & Information Lead position is part of Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA)s Data Management and Analysis unit. This team provides data analysis distribution of Medicaid data extracts to contractors supporting our programs and reporting to regulatory agencies the legislature and other stakeholders. We provide mandatory federal reporting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and deliver routine data feeds to Vermont Healthcare Claims Uniform Reporting and Evaluations System (VHCURES). Our team develops the annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Sets (HEDIS) data extracts to allow quality comparisons with Medicaid programs nationwide. The Vermont Chronic Care Initiative (VCCI) depends on our provision of weekly claims and monthly eligibility data for Care Coordination and new member outreach. Data analysts in this team respond to ad hoc data requests from DVHA staff and other AHS departments and state agencies.
The team actively supports initiatives around performance measures performance improvement projects and large-scale efforts to modernize Medicaid database systems. The analyst collaborates on designing developing and implementing change processes to encourage beneficiary and provider coordination and cooperation. Example subject matter of these performance projects includes Breast Cancer Screening Initiation and Engagement of Alcohol and Other Drug Dependence Treatment Hypertension Diabetes control and clinical outreach to those newly subscribed to Medicaid.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting but travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Evening and weekend work may be necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in public health health care administration public administration statistics business administration or related field with academic work in statistics and health care-related research AND two (2) years experience in statistical business or public administration or health care services where the duties included any combination of analytical work and statistics.
OR
Bachelors degree in public health health care administration public administration statistics business administration or related field with academic work in statistics and health care-related research AND four (4) years experience in statistical business or public administration or health care services where the duties included any combination of analytical work and statistics.
OR
Six (6) years years experience in statistical business or public administration or health care services where the duties included any combination of analytical work and statistics.
Special Requirements
Advanced proficiency in data analytics using statistical packages and database management applications with complex data sets.
