Job Summary

The Customer Project Engineer plays a key role in delivering best-in-class service to Laboratory Testing Inc.s mission-critical customers across the Aerospace Defense Nuclear and Materials Production industries. This position oversees complex cross-departmental projects from quoting through invoicing ensuring technical accuracy on-time delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with excellent project management and communication skills to coordinate technical requirements resolve challenges and drive successful project outcomes. The project engineer will be assigned projects and will be responsible for an estimated project base of $1 million in annual revenue. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting high-value projects that make a lasting impact in critical industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage customer projects through entire lifecycle from quoting through invoicing.
  • Serve as the lead for the on-boarding of new projects into LTIs business operations by holding team meetings to review the project plan and major milestones.
  • Create estimates perform contract review source job orders and release to the shop
  • Create cut up plans and seek approval from the customer or internal technical SME.
  • Create outside service POs to fulfill project tasks all done in accordance to LTIs QA policy.
  • Utilize scheduling tools to provide updates and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Create and maintain a master project list that provides global communication for all projects.
  • Provide regular communication to sales and stakeholders regarding project statuses and attend update meetings as required.
  • Manage project invoicing. Works with accounting to resolve issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering industrial engineering materials engineering or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a mechanical engineer test engineer or another related engineering role.
  • Ability to read interpret and apply technical documents specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for creating detailed cut-up and manufacturing plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Project and Planner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure project completion.
  • Willingness to engage in significant training across multiple testing disciplines.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning to build a deep understanding of testing fundamentals and processes.
  • Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies.
  • The employee will be required to move varying weight up to 75 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience withInfor Cloud Suite Industrial(or comparable ERP/MRP system).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with job orders & bills of manufacturing including sequencing operations for custom projects and production schedules.
  • Prior experience in an engineering test laboratoryenvironment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and customer specificationsfor mechanical and materials testing.

This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In accordance with ITAR to be qualified to work in this facility applicants must be a US Person which is defined as a US National US Permanent Resident and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
