The Lead Janitor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of facilities to ensure a safe sanitary and welcoming environment. This role includes supervising janitorial staff coordinating cleaning schedules inspecting work quality and performing hands-on cleaning duties. The ideal candidate is reliable detail-oriented and experienced in custodial operations.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of janitorial staff.
Train new custodial team members on cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
Inspect facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting and trash removal.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g. floor buffers carpet cleaners).
Respond to urgent cleaning needs or maintenance issues.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing supplies and facility needs.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Customer Service Experience
One year of lead or supervisory experience
