Join the UAMS Centers on Aging as an Education Assistant Director a key leadership role supporting the Director to advance education programs and services that support older adults their families and healthcare professionals across Arkansas. This position is ideal for a proactive and innovative professional passionate about improving lives through education training and community engagement.
As the Education Assistant Director youll contribute to the strategic direction of the Centers on Aging by developing implementing and evaluating education programs tailored to diverse audiences. Youll provide leadership in day-to-day operations collaborate with regional and statewide teams and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Your efforts will enhance the Centers capacity to deliver impactful training support families in accessing resources and foster collaboration across healthcare and social service disciplines.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration finance or related field plus five (5) years of experience in a clinical and/or educational setting administrative finance or related experience.
OR
- High School diploma/GED plus nine (9) years of experience in a clinical and/or educational setting administrative finance or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- RN or Social Worker licensure
- Special knowledge in Dementia Care
- Special knowledge in Geriatrics
- Long-Term Care and/or hospice care
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Program Development and Implementation: Expertise in designing and delivering educational programs for diverse audiences.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead teams foster collaboration and align initiatives with organizational goals.
- Budget Management: Experience overseeing budgets and securing funding through grants and other opportunities.
- Community Engagement: Skills in building relationships and engaging with communities to enhance program impact.
- Evaluation and Training: Proficiency in evaluating programs providing training and supporting staff development.
- Resource Navigation: Knowledge of resources for elderly care and the ability to guide families through life transitions.
Additional Information:
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Duties: Will work with the regional and statewide leadership teams to develop the Centers strategic plan and update as needed. Attend staff meetings foundation meetings advisory committee meetings UAMS COAs meetings and other meetings as appropriate. Will assist the director in the development of the budget and will oversee the budget. Explore and apply for grants will seek needed technical assistance when needed. Will seek and explore other leveraging opportunities. Coordinated and leads other aspects of the Center as needed including but not limited to: marketing policy clinical liaison educational programs and community relationships. Prepares reports (including an annual report) and manages data for the Center and other duties as assigned.
- Leadership for Education Programs: Execute education program component of the Center. Develop and implement the various educational programs in accordance with UAMS guidelines and works with the UAMS COAs leadership group. Will coordinate and collaborate with other Centers on Aging staff in the development implementation and evaluation of education programs. Is active in educating and training all target groups.
- Provide education guidance and counseling to patient families in terms of accessing appropriate resources for the elderly throughout life transition
- Evaluation/Consultation/Training: Provides leadership in the evaluation of the education programs and staff and serves as a resource to other staff members who provide consultation referral services resource services and training programs. Provides leadership in scheduling for education and training programs.
