We are looking for an Associate Environmental Planner who is very motivated and pays attention to detail to join our dynamic this job you will help create review and carry out environmental planning initiatives for a number of projects making sure they follow all local state and federal environmental rules. You will do research go out into the field to assess things write technical reports and help with public outreach and getting stakeholders involved.
Main Duties
Do environmental impact assessments for both public and private sector projects.
Write and review environmental documents like Environmental Impact Reports (EIR) Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).
Work with government agencies stakeholders and the public to make sure that environmental permits are issued and that rules are followed.
Help with gathering data doing field studies and visiting sites.
Look at environmental data and write clear short technical reports and presentations.
Help project managers plan and carry out environmental projects from the beginning to the end.
Keep up with changes in environmental laws rules and best practices.
Attend public meetings workshops and hearings when you need to.
Help with writing grant applications and proposals for funding.
Requirements
A bachelors degree in environmental planning environmental science urban planning geography or a field very similar to these is required. A masters degree is preferred.
Two years of work experience in environmental planning or a related field.
A good understanding of NEPA CEQA and other environmental laws.
Great at talking and writing.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software well.
Ability to work alone and with others in teams from different fields.
Good at organising things and managing projects.
You need a valid drivers license and the ability to travel to project sites when needed.
Pay per hour: $30 to $45 (the hourly rate depends on experience and qualifications).
