Two years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
An associates degree in information technology; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties:
Designs codes compiles tests debugs modifies and documents new or existing applications using the OTS technology stack to conform to AppDM accepted standards procedures and guidelines.
Meets with users to determine project needs and provide system support. Evaluates users requests for changes to determine specific tasks and effects on existing programs and systems. Writes project program and system specifications. Develops software utilities as needed to increase productivity.
Responds to computer system emergencies and resolves problems independently or in consultation with other Information Technology applications staff and/or end user personnel. Researches and resolves program machine data or system software problems of a highly technical nature frequently interacting with other employees supervisors or users.
Prepares program specifications and test procedures. Prepares and supervises formal system test procedures of complex applications. Develops user guides production documentation and trains users.
Performs all other tasks special projects analysis studies and plans as directed.
