The Department of Aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for four full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the positions is August 1 2026.
We seek passionate educators and researchers to teach core and concentration-specific aerospace courses (depending on qualifications) conduct collaborative and multidisciplinary research and contribute to university and professional service. Instruction may occur in classrooms labs online at the airport or off-campus locations.
A PhD in aerospace aviation engineering management or a closely related field or a terminal degree in any field with a masters degree in aerospace aviation engineering management education or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
A masters degree in aerospace aviation engineering management or a closely related field with five (5) years of full-time aerospace or aviation industry work experience or aviation or military aerospace experience will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
Three (3) years of progressively advancing civilian or military aviation or aerospace experience is required.
