Job Summary
Are you ready to make real impact within underwater defence technology Join the Uncrewed Platforms division in Kongsberg Discovery as a Product Manager for underwater drones for military applications. Kongsberg Discovery is a global leader in marine drone technology offering cutting-edge and dependable the Uncrewed Platforms division we specialize in designing manufacturing and distributing uncrewed and robotic systems ranging from autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) that can navigate the oceans from the surface and down to 6000 meters below uncrewed surface vessels (USV) that operate without crew for weeks at a time as well as specialized self-contained integrated systems.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Product Manager you will take responsibility for parts of our product portfolio overseeing a line of products from inception to end-of-life. You will act as the vital link between customers sales engineering and production spearheading product development and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities include:
- Design develop and deploy next generation underwater drone systems for naval applications leading the product strategy and roadmap development.
- Cultivate strong relationships with a select group of governmental customers to support long-term use of the product.
- Gather and translate stakeholder business and user requirements into actionable plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of drone technology.
- Manage the product line life cycle.
- Stay abreast of the latest advances in underwater drone technology and defence industry trends.
- Develop expertise in export control and the management of naval defence products.
You will work collaboratively with Product Advisors other Product Managers technical experts development teams our sales force and production teams. This position requires some travel e.g. to customer visits and trade shows. You might occasionally join our operators and customers in the field on trials and demonstrations.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience in underwater operations preferably within the navy or naval industry.
- Strong technical background in drone technology robotics or related fields.
- Experience with technical systems for underwater naval applications is highly desirable.
- Experience from product management or technical management particularly in industries that integrate mechanical elements with electronics and software is advantageous.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; Norwegian language skills are advantageous.
- Proficiency in product management IT tools or an eagerness to learn such tools.

This employment will require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority. You may start work with limited accesses while clearance is processed.
