Project/Program:
NYS e-MPIRE Tax Processing System
This position will work on tax modernization in the architecture team as a part of the DevOPS team. Tax modernization is a multi-year project focused on modernizing the IT infrastructure and applications for the NYS tax department. One of the key components of that is modernizing the development platforms and processes to a more agile approach.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
The selected candidate will work on the Enterprise Architecture DevOps team as a lead for integrating various technologies into our applications build and deployment pipelines. Tasks performed are but not limited to:
- Guide the DevOPS architecture and design sessions and ensure technical solutions are aligned with agencys strategic direction.
- Integrate disparate technologies products and applications into one robust architectural platform providing a seamless integration for easier access.
- Abstracting technical implementation specifics from application development to allow for a loosely couple agile development model.
- Design and implement productivity tools to help rapid development of applications.
- Installation of software on Open Shift Container Platform through Kubernetes Operators.
- GITLab Runner Pipeline Configurations.
- Helm and Argo Configuration Management in GITLab.
- Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements.
- Present technical solution proposals to management and other technical infrastructure support teams.
- Document technical solutions proposed and implemented.
- Design training material and conduct training sessions for other members of the DevOps and Architecture teams.
Mandatory Qualification:
Software Architect -
Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards including software coding standards tools and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
Expert -
84 Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications:
- 60 months experience with Kubernetes operators in OpenShift container platform.
- 48 months experience in creation of GITLab Runner CC/CD Pipelines.
- 60 Months experience in HELM or Argo Configurations.
- 84 Months Experience with Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines.
- 48 months experience integrating CI/CD Pipelines with Conjur for Secret Management.
