Staff Product Manager, Connectivity and Device Charging

Job Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Warren (MI) or Mountain View (CA) three times per week at minimum. If located in Mountain View you will be expected to travel to Michigan monthly.

The Role

As Senior Product Manager for Connectivity and Device Charging you will define and execute the Connectivity and Device Charging Experience roadmaps throughout all in-vehicle touchpoints.

Todays vehicles are becoming increasingly connected into our customers busy lives. They are bringing into the vehicle multiple devices like phones tablets headphones gaming controllers laptops and more using technologies like Bluetooth Bluetooth Low Energy Ultra-Wideband Wi-Fi and NFC. Theyre also connecting to many devices outside the vehicle such as garage doors and toll plazas. The vehicle itself is expanding its own need for a variety of external connectivity solutions such as 5G cellular and Wi-Fi. You will lead the charge in crafting seamless future-forward solutions. Our vehicles have become a hub for device charging on the go using a combination of wireless USB and 120V power. We must understand their power needs as well as where theyre located in the vehicle and how they are to be used (or not) while charging.

Responsibilities include anticipating future customer and business needs building strategies to enhance the management of devices and collaborating with connectivity technology Product Managers to shape the future of connected vehicle hardware and software.

Thriving in fast-paced environments demonstrating principled customer-centric decision-making and building consensus across cross-functional teams will be critical to delivering exceptional connectivity experiences in this role. We expect you to be proactive willing to roll up your sleeves and committed to delighting our customers with reliable and innovative solutions to challenging problems.

What Youll Do

• Define and own the long-term Connectivity and Device Charging Experience product visions setting strategic direction for multiple product teams.
• Balance user convenience business objectives and software resources to create a cohesive product roadmap.
• Lead cross-functional teams including Design Engineering Program and Product Managers to create delightful customer experiences.
• Monitor emerging trends in usability and technology leveraging data research and market analysis to inform product decisions.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve connectivity solutions.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product effectiveness and success.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field
• 8 years working on technology-powered digital products in roles such as product or program management product marketing or technology development.
• Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer expectations business objectives and technical constraints.
• Expertise in developing solutions to complex challenges using data-informed decision-making and risk assessment.
• Demonstrated expertise in writing with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision strategy and technical details in a cohesive narrative.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively across stakeholders.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Advanced educational background (MBA engineering computer science etc.).
• Experience leading digital products across platforms such as mobile web or vehicle.
• 5 years of digital/software product management experience.
• 3 years of experience managing connectivity and charging products such as Bluetooth Wi-Fi UWB USB and Wireless Charging.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

• The salary range for this role is $168000 - $258800 The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
